Founded in 1982, the U.S. National Tennis Academy is a non-profit association of Tennis Teaching Professionals.  The USNTA produces and administers a distance learning Tennis Instructor training and certification program.  Persons who successfully complete the program -- written testing and on-court instructor evaluations -- are designated as "Certified Professional Tennis Instructors."

Since certification is voluntary, it represents not only compliance with established standards, but also a special personal commitment to quality and professionalism. Certification also enhances your chances of obtaining a teaching job.
